The blood is drawn from a vein in the arm and put into a centrifuge. Centrifuge is a machine that spins the blood rapidly separating its components. The platelet is then extracted using a syringe and injected into areas of the scalp that need increased hair growth. Platelet rich plasma can grow baby hairs, strengthen the existing hairs and thicken them.
Essentially, anyone suffering from hair loss.
If you are suffering from androgenetic alopecia or alopecia areata
If you lost hair post treatment or as a result of thyroid disease
If you want to encourage hair growth and thickness
A study to compare the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma and minoxidil therapy for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia shows amazing results to participating patients (see here). We have also seen incredible results on our clients.
The entire process may take around 1 hour and several sessions may be necessary.
We recommend one treatment per month for the first three to four months, and then every three to six months thereafter, depending on the individual patient’s response and results.
As long as this treatment is administered by a qualified practitioner, it’s completely safe.
The side effects include a mild pain at the injection site, scalp tenderness, swelling, headache or itching. They are temporary and should settle within couple of days.
Prices start from £350.

How many of us wish for naturally thicker and longer hair?
Hair is an essential part of our body and appearance, and it can really make a difference to how we look (and feel). If you wish your hair was thicker, we may just have a treatment for you.
You are probably familiar with the ‘Vampire Facial’, a skin treatment that uses your own blood to help you get a smooth, glowing completion. This treatment can also be used to encourage hair growth, but instead of the blood being injected in your face, it is injection in your scalp.
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy for hair loss is a medical treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn, processed, and then injected into the scalp.
Our blood is made of two components, red blood cells and plasma. The plasma contains white blood cells and platelets, which are rich in growth factors.
PRP treatment has been around for a long time and used by doctors to accelerate the healing process in various areas of the body. It was very common and still is, in sports injuries. Nowadays, PRP is gaining popularity in dermatology to support tissue regeneration, wound healing, scar revision, skin rejuvenating and hair loss.
