Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid as a key ingredient which, as we are seeing more and more in our skincare, is ultra-moisturising and revitalising for the skin. This hyaluronic acid, plus other nourishing and enhancing properties within the injectable, are used to ‘wake up’, volumise and reshape the skin and lips in a way that is safe and non-invasive. 

Dermal fillers can be used to plump and add volume to the lip, define shape and correct unevenness, smooth out wrinkles and fine lines around the mouth, and increase hydration and elasticity.

Shikha is skilled in administering dermal fillers and has been trained to use a variety of injectables. At Elegant we only use the highest quality, premium brands such as JUVÉDERM and Dermalax™ – one of the best fillers on the market. We will generally use either 0.5ml or 1ml of filler from the JUVÉDERM, Dermalax™ or premium JUVÉDERM VYCROSS range.

The majority of fillers that we use at Elegant Beauty Clinic include a local anaesthetic, helping your treatment to feel more comfortable. Our dermal filler needles are ultra-fine, and we will always use a numbing cream to further minimise any discomfort. You may feel a slight stinging sensation during the procedure, but this will subside almost immediately. 

Your results will be instant, albeit with a little swelling and occasional bruising that will fully settle down within a fortnight. We advise that you take care of your lips by not applying makeup for 12 hours or so post-treatment, however there is little other downtime for lip augmentation. Shikha will provide you with aftercare advice to ensure that you feel comfortable, supported and safe upon leaving the clinic. Injectable lip fillers are not permanent and can last from 6 to 12 months. This will usually depend on the patient, the type of filler used, and the amount of filler injected. 

Despite the temporary nature of dermal fillers, we encourage every patient to think carefully before going through with any aesthetics procedure. We will never pressure you or rush you into making a decision, and this way you can proceed with confidence on your Elegant journey. However, it is important to note that sometimes you may change your mind after seeing your results– and that’s okay.

Dermal fillers are reversible when administered by a fully qualified, certified practitioner. A responsible aesthetician will be able to offer a reversal service by using an injection of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that dissolves the filler safely. Russian lip fillers are another technique that shapes the lips into a subtle heart shape with more volume near the center, like a Russian doll.

The Russian lip technique works to build height and shape, lifting and building volume in the centre. To achieve this look, the lip filler is injected vertically, working from the base of the lip and drawing it out toward the lip’s border. 

In the standard lip fillers, the practitioner starts from the lip border and works inward.
