How does Juvederm filler work?

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the human body so by using a filler of this kind we can stimulate the production of collagen to plump the skin and the area being injected.

Before the procedure, we will discuss with you the areas around your lips you’d like to be treated and will talk you through what to expect during and after. When you are happy what we’ve decided we will then inject Juvederm into the area, lightly massaging the lips to ensure an even distribution of product and to reduce the chance of swelling.

The entire procedure usually takes between 15 and 60 minutes. All you need to do is to book your appointment online and pop into one of our clinics; either in Bournemouth or Poole.

Bear in mind however that everyone’s anatomy is different and what looks good on one person may not suit another, we will always be honest with you with the aim to achieve a natural looking yet effective result. Juvederm fillers are minimally invasive so we’d usually do the procedure on the same day as your consultation, with your consent of course.

We would advise avoiding medication like aspirin and ibuprofen as well as alcohol and smoking in the week or so leading up to your treatment, this is mainly to avoid thinning the blood and therefore preventing bruising.
